Timecrumbs for Windows

Automatic time tracking for people who bill by the project.

Version 2.5.1 Released October 7, 2026 Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit

Getting set up

  1. Run the installer

It takes about a minute and needs an administrator to approve it. Timecrumbs then starts with Windows, and a clock appears in the system tray. That's the recorder.

  2. Add your projects

Type them in, or import a CSV or Excel export from your project management or accounting system. Numbers and names are all it needs.

  3. Work as usual

Connect your calendar if you like, then forget about it. Open Timecrumbs at the end of the day and confirm what it suggests.

System requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
  • About 120 MB of disk space, plus room for screenshots if you turn them on
  • Internet only for calendar sign-in, updates, and license activation

If Windows warns you

Some browsers and Windows SmartScreen are cautious with new downloads. The installer is published by Firmware, LLC, the company that makes Timecrumbs; choose Keep in your browser, then More info and Run anyway if SmartScreen appears.

What's new

2.5.1

  • Use Timecrumbs with your AI: connect your AI app, and it can draft your days from what Timecrumbs recorded.
  • The Inbox: drafts and questions wait for you to accept, change, or answer, including notes you type for your AI. Timecrumbs fills it with its own drafts too, and they learn your categories, your meetings, and time that isn't work.
  • Each question says what the time was: the main windows, what they were about and for how long, and what you logged just before and after. Open the time's screenshots right from the question.
  • What your AI can do: it only suggests unless you let it also save what you approve.
  • Send your confirmed time to Harvest, Xero, or any app you reach through Zapier, Make, n8n, or Power Automate. Seven more systems are in Beta; see the integrations.
  • If a billing system's sign-in stops working, Timecrumbs tells you, and Reconnect signs you back in with your links and settings intact.
  • Billed hours: round to the nearest 15 or 30 minutes, with leftover minutes carried through the week so your totals stay true.
  • Approve an AI draft right on the day's timeline with one click.
  • Private projects: keep your own side work off the firm's shared list and out of your billing system. Timesheet exports leave it out unless you include it.
  • When you come back to your desk, the away prompt offers its best guesses, one tap each.
  • A count on the tray icon, the Inbox button, and the taskbar button shows what's waiting in the inbox.
  • Enter your name once, and it appears on your timesheets and reports.
